Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - ABU DHABI attractions

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest mosque in the country and is the key place of worship for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. During Eid, it may be visited by more than 41,000 people. The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1996 and 2007 and it was designed by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelky.

There are 96 columns in the main prayer hall decorated with mother-of-pearl and the 1096 columns of the exterior are decorated with over 20,000 marble panels inlaid with semi-predious stones including abalone shell, amethyst, lapis lazuli, mother of peark and red agate.

  1. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque looks amazing. I never imagined that the Grand Mosque would look as beautiful as the Jumeirah Mosque Dubai. My wife had been nudging me to take us on a Dubai trip for the past couple of years and just when I got the visa last year, our trip got cancelled due to the pandemic. However, I heard that the local authorities are easing travel restrictions so I should be able to apply for a visa real soon and take my wife on a lovely vacation.

    1. I hope that everything would be alright and that your trip is going to be wonderful! Thanks for your comment!
