City Hall - HO CHI MINH (SAIGON), VIETNAM

Ho Chi Minh City Hall with French colonial architecture on Nguyen Hue Boulevard in Saigon, Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City Hall, officially known as the People’s Committee Building, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, in Southeast Asia. Designed by French architect Eugène Ferret, the building was constructed between 1902 and 1908 during the French colonial period.

Its elegant façade, arched windows, clock tower, and symmetrical layout reflect classic French colonial architecture, strongly influenced by European civic buildings of the era. Situated at the northern end of Nguyen Hue Boulevard, the City Hall has long served as a symbol of administrative power and urban identity in Saigon.

Although the building is not open to the public, it remains an important governmental center and a focal point of the cityscape, creating a striking contrast between Vietnam’s colonial past and the dynamic modern life of Ho Chi Minh City.
