Petronas Twin Towers - KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
The Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers in the world, a status they have held since 1996. Rising prominently over Kuala Lumpur, they have become one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
The towers feature a tube-in-tube structural system, developed by renowned engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan, and were designed by Argentine architect César Pelli. Standing at 88 floors, the buildings are constructed primarily of reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass façade.
Their design incorporates geometric patterns inspired by Islamic art, reflecting Malaysia’s cultural and religious heritage while blending modern engineering with symbolic architecture.
