War Remnants Museum - HO CHI MINH (SAIGON), VIETNAM



The War Remnants Museum is a war museum at 28 Vo Van Tan, in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. It contains exhibits relating to the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War.

Established by the Vietnamese government on the 9th of September, 1975, the museum was originally called “The House for Displaying War Crimes of American Imperialism and the Puppet Government”. Then in 1990 it was renamed to the “Museum of American War Crimes”, and then not until the 4th of July, 1995, did people start to refer to it as the “War Remnants Museum”.

The War Remnants Museum is currently one of the most popular museums in Vietnam, attracting approximately half a million visitors every year.
